Alberta M. Brickey was born on Jan. 4, 1924 near Oregon, Missouri. She was one of eight children of Bert and Alice (Hardin) Hamm. Alberta graduated from New Point High School.
On March 3, 1943 she married G. Dale Brickey. Dale and Alberta moved to Arkansas in 1968. Alberta worked for the Arkansas State Bank (now Liberty Bank) for more than 40 years.
Alberta passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at the Oregon Care Center at the age of 88.
Alberta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale; brothers, Dale "Slick" Hamm, Elvin "Lefty" Hamm, Everett "Speck" Hamm, and Bert, Jr "Bud" Hamm; and sisters, Flossie Kelso and Bessie Mae Hamm.
Survivors include her sister, Madeline J. Derr of Maitland, Missouri; brother-in-law and sister-in-law,
Larry and Carol Brickey of Mound City; sister-in-law, Irene Supernau of Lawrence, Kansas; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, one great-great niece and several great-great nephews.
Alberta enjoyed collecting angels and blue glassware. She was an avid league bowler.
Services were held on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Chamberlain Funeral Home in Mound City. Interment was held at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Craig, Missouri. Memorials may be directed to the Oregon Care Center Serenity Garden, I.O.O.F. Cemetery, or New Point Cemetery.
