Alice Erline Nash

September 28, 1927 — April 22, 2012

Alice Erline Nash was born on September 28, 1927 in Worth, Missouri. She was the daughter of Clarence Earl “Jack” and Mary Alice (Miller) Hughes.

Alice graduated from Grant City High School. On July 7, 1946 she married Lawrence Russell “L.R.” Nash, and they became parents of three children.

Alice worked as a bank teller for Citizens Bank in Oregon, retiring in 1984.

Alice passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at a St. Joseph hospital at the age of 84.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her son, Clarence Edward “Eddie” Nash.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Denwood Parrish of Melbourne, Florida; son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence Earl and Penny Nash of St. Joseph, Missouri; five grandchildren, Jennifer Queener, Daniel Sliffe, Michael Parrish, Alice Koehler and Sara Dutilly; 10 great grandchildren, Justin, Allison, Rebekah and Kirby Queener, Denwood Parrish II, Lottie and Edward Parrish, Abby and Jack Koehler, and Byron Dutilly; brother and sister-in-law, Darold and Naomi Hughes of Grant City, Missouri; sister, Shirley Pierce of Grant City; and nieces and nephews.

Alice was a member of the United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, VFW Auxiliary, the HIW Club, and the Holiday Club. She also belonged to the PTA in Higginsville. Alice enjoyed quilting and crocheting.

Services were held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 10:30 am at the Oregon United Methodist Church. Interment was held at the Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Special Olympics or the Oregon United Methodist Church.
