Avalee A. Grimes

Avalee Grimes, 80, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at her Forest City, Mo. home.

She was born on May 26, 1938 to George E. and Amy I. (Cooper) Noellsch, Jr.

On April 5, 1957 she married George W. Grimes, Jr., and they became parents of four children.

Avalee and George lived northwest of Forest City on the family farm until his death in 1997, when she moved into town.

Avalee was a member of the United Methodist Church. She was very active in the community. She loved animals and was an avid Mickey Mouse memorabilia collector.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her sister, Peggy Stansbury.

Survivors include her children, Winona (Kevin) Thompson of Oregon, Mo., Larry L. (Lela) Grimes of Tarkio, Mo.,  Donald G. (Rebecca) Grimes of Fillmore, Mo., and Ronald L. Grimes of Oregon, Mo.; grandkids, Carolyn (Bob) Fitzpatrick, Cathryn (Jeremy) Cooper, Isaiah Thompson, Hazel (Ryan) Sellars, Jon Thompson, Adam (Karen) Grimes, Donnie (Crystal) Reyer, Larry (Shyree) Grimes,  Joe (Nicole)  Grimes, Alex (Jessica) Grimes, Stuart (Stephany) Grimes, Jared (Alicia) Grimes, Hayley (Colton) Chambers, Hannah (Jacob) Cole, Hunter Grimes, Caitlynd (Kyle) Budine, Amy Grimes, and Madison Grimes; numerous great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family visitation: Wed., Oct. 24, 2018, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Oregon. Services: Thurs., Oct. 25, 2018, also at the funeral home. Memorials: Forest City United Methodist Church. Interment: Maple Grove Cemetery.
