Betty J. Acklin, 86, of Weston, Missouri, formerly of Mound City, Missouri, passed away on Thurs., Jan. 12, 2017 at a Platte City, Missouri care center.
Betty was born on May 14, 1930 in Maitland, Missouri, the only child of Joseph and Frankie (Worley) Boring.
On October 14, 1948 she married Donald L. Acklin, and they owned and operated a woodworking shop. Donald preceded her in death.
Also preceding her in death were her parents and a grandson, Brendan Acklin.
Survivors include her son, Raymond Acklin and his wife, Diane, of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, Shaylin Acklin-Kohake and her husband Brandon Kohake, and Kinsey Garcia and her husband Manuel; step granddaughter, Amanda Larson and her husband Lee; step grandson, Aaron Slusher; four great grandchildren; seven step great grandchildren; and two step great-great grandchildren.
Services: Tues., Jan. 17, 2017, 2:00 pm, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Mound City. Family will greet friends one hour prior to services. Interment: Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorials: Three Rivers Hospice.
