Betty L. Chaney, 89, of Forest City, Missouri, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023 at a healthcare facility in Savannah, Missouri.
Betty was born on August 20, 1934 to James C. and Elizabeth J. (Meade) Smith. She married Kenneth H. Chaney, and they became parents of two sons. Betty was a housewife.
Kenneth passed away in 1992. Also preceding her in death were her siblings, Everett Smith, Clyde Smith, Midge Graham, Wilda Galvin, and Jessie Watkins; and a grandchild.
Survivors include her sons, Kenneth R. Chaney of Mound City, Missouri and Paul D. Chaney of St. Joseph, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Betty enjoyed gardening and cooking. She also enjoyed music, and played the steel flattop guitar.
Graveside services: Thursday, August 31, 2023, 11:00 am, Benton Church Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the cemetery.
