Betty Jean Dick

November 10, 1924 — February 18, 2015

Betty Jean (Graves) Dick was born in Harrison, Arkansas on Nov. 10, 1924. She was one of five children of Alfred and Jewell (Jones) Graves. Betty grew up in Arkansas and attended nursing school in Kansas City.

In 1958 she moved to Mound City and worked as the Holt County school nurse for several years. She helped operate Dick's Rexall Drugs in Mound City, and also owned and operated the Treasure Chest Gift Shop.

Betty was very family oriented. She was a member of the former St. Oswald's In-The-Fields Episcopal Church, and served on the Alter Guild.

Betty passed away at Community Hospital in Fairfax, Missouri on Feb. 18, 2015 at the age of  90.

Preceding her in death were her brother, Alfred Graves; and sisters, Florene Sehorn, Barbara Shull, and an infant sister, Norma Jean.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, David and Lynda Elton of Blue Springs, Missouri, and Randy and Rhonda Dick of St. Peters, Missouri; sister, Judy Martin of Farmington, New Mexico; six grandchildren, Breanna (Tyler) Dykes, Mallory Elton, Miranda (Dan) Stahlman, Sarah Dick, Brian Dick and Nathan Dick; four great grandchildren, Mason and Cody Dykes, and Kaylee and Gavin Stahlman; and nieces and nephews.

Memorial services: Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015, 3:00 pm, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Mound City. Family will greet friends one hour prior to services. Memorials: Donor's choice.
