Betty Lorene (Wright) Weinberg was born in Mound City, Missouri on December 24, 1925. She was the only child of Harry Milton and Mary Dale (Lansdown) Wright.
Betty attended school in Mound City and graduated from Lafayette High School in St. Joseph, Missouri.
She married W. H. “Jack” Wise, a detective with the St. Joseph police force, and they became parents of two daughters. He preceded her in death.
Betty then married Earl M. Weinberg. He also preceded her in death.
Betty worked as a retail clerk in several St. Joseph stores, retiring from the former Einbender’s women’s clothing store. She volunteered at the State Hospital as a member of the Red Cross Grey Ladies. Betty was a member of the First Christian Church in Mound City.
Betty passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at a St. Joseph care center.
Survivors include her daughters, Karen (John) McKay of Easton, Missouri, and Sharon Million of Gladstone, Missouri; four grandchildren, Tony Million, Krista (Tony) Goneau, Tim (Debi) McKay and Jenny (Jeff) Hovey; and four great grandchildren, Jackson McKay, Gabrielle McKay, Alexandria Hovey and Patrick Hovey.
Services were held on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 3:00 pm at the Chamberlain Funeral Home in Mound City. Interment was held at Mount Hope Cemetery.
