Bonnie Lee Marie Wehrli

Bonnie Lee Marie Wehrli, 85, Mound City, Mo. went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at the Village Care Center in Maryville, Mo.

She was born to Ralph and Sylvia Jones on October 21, 1926 in Rock Port Mo. Bonnie attended school in Rock Port until her sophomore year. She transferred to Mound City High School where she graduated in 1945.

She was employed by the telephone company prior to being united in marriage to Charles Wehrli on March 30, 1946, in Troy, Kan. They were long-time members of the North Bethel Church near Mound City.

Bonnie was a homemaker on the family farm north of Mound City where she and Charles raised two sons and a daughter. Bonnie enjoyed working as a nurse’s aid at the Boehm Nursing Home in the former Bellevue school and the Duncan Nursing Home in Mound City. She was also a cook at the Schoonover Oil Co. Cafe in Mound City. Later, Bonnie was a housekeeper for several families in the Mound City area.

Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Cynthia Lee; her five brothers, Ferrell, Darr, Junior, Keith and Kenneth Jones; and a sister, Donna Jones Knapp.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Wehrli of the home; their children, Rodney (Karen) Wehrli, Little Rock, Ark., Lisa (Bob) Bullock, Noblesville, Ind., and Tim (Marilyn) Wehrli, Maryville; seven grandchildren, Melissa (Nghia) Phan, Jeff (Jenni) Wehrli, Brad Wehrli, Jason (Danielle) Bullock, Nathan Bullock, Hillary (Ryan) Cronk, and Chelsea Wehrli; two great grandchildren, Angel Wehrli and Noah Phan; five nephews and one niece.

Services were held on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 3:00 pm at the Chamberlain Funeral Home in Mound City.  Burial was at Mount Hope Cemetery in Mound City.
