C. Ilene Hendrix

Claire Ilene Hendrix went to be with our Heavenly Father on July 25, 2013.

On March 9, 1919 Ilene was born to Raymond and Verna (Houck) Johnson in Bedford, Iowa. She married Harold Hendrix on Dec. 9, 1939, and had nine children. He passed away in 1985.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, James; one grandchild; two great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; her brother, Eugene Johnson, and her sister, Annabelle Lucas.

Survivors include her children, Carrol Bruntmyer and Helen Runnels of Mound City, Bonnie Crum (Don) of Clarinda, Iowa, Karen Sipes of St. Joseph, Missouri, Larry (Denise) Hendrix of Maryville, Missouri, Sandy Cochran of Maryville, Richard (Betty) Hendrix of Fairfax, Missouri, and Joyce (Randy) Young of Lubbock, Texas; 19 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.

Ilene was a resident of Tiffany Care Center in Mound City for seven years. She enjoyed life and family.

Services will be held on Monday, July 29, 2013 at 10:30 am at the Chamberlain Funeral Home in Mound City. Family visitation will be Sunday evening from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm, also at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Maitland Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Mound City Nutrition Site, or charity of donor's choice.
