Caroline W. Hall was born on March 5, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois. At the age of three weeks she was adopted from "The Cradle" in Evanston, Illinois by Stephen Miller Williams, Jr. and Katherine Barnes Williams. She was taken to live in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She later lived in Summit, New Jersey for two years and New York City for four years, moving to Kansas City, Missouri in 1933.
Caroline attended Sunset Hill School, graduating in 1945. She then attended Pine Manor College in Wellesley, Massachusetts and the University of Missouri-Columbia.
On May 20, 1950 she married John Bolton Hall of Mound City, Missouri after a college romance. They became parents of a daughter and two sons. John passed away on July 12, 1994. She then married Max W. Kurtz on March 4, 2010. He passed away on December 2, 2013.
Caroline passed away on October 9, 2024 at a Mound City care center at the age of 97. She was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Williams, III, and sister-in-law, Barbara; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ben and Donna Hall and Earle and Winona Hall; and great grandson, Rhett Hall.
Survivors include her daughter, Marilee Hall Williams, and sons John B. (Ann) Hall, Jr. and Charles W. Hall; grandsons, Chris (Rachel) Hall, Jason (Carolyn) Hall, Joshua (Angela) Hall, Wes Hall, and Andrew Hall; granddaughter, Sarah Katherine (Andy) Woods; step great-grandchildren, Courtney and Lane Woods; great grandchildren, C. Jacob Hall, Justyn Hall, Rhylan Hall, Jacob W. Hall, KyRyein Panning, Kishia Panning, Caimbre Panning, Cobi Panning, Keenan Hall, Custen Hall, Chaseton Hall, Kharagun Hall, and Kheringtyn Hall; great-great grandchildren, Hudson and Bentley LaBryer; and nieces, Rebecca (Danny) Herron and Michel (Kevin) Jones.
Services: Visitation, 10:00 am, Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Chamberlain Funeral Home, Mound City; with funeral service, October 19, 2024, 2:00 pm, High Creek Church, Watson, Missouri. Interment: High Creek Cemetery. Memorials: High Creek Cemetery Association.
