Claude Eugene “Pa” Kendall Sr. was born on October 26, 1931 in Texarkana, Arkansas. He was one of ten children of Hosea O. and E. Emogene (White) Kendall. Claude graduated from Slater High School, Slater, Missouri in 1949.
Drafted into the Army in 1952, he served with the Airborne while on active duty. He retired after 23 years of service with the rank of Sergeant Major.
Claude was a proud I.B.E.W. Union member, Local #53 for over 50 years as a journeyman lineman.
Claude passed away on February 28, 2016 at a Mound City care center at the age of 84 with his family by his side. He was preceded in death by his first wife Charlene Grace; second wife Deana Keiffer; three brothers, Jim, Wayne and George Kendall; two sisters, Beverly Kendall and Pauline Guier; sons-in-law Roger Smith and John Ingram, and grandson Cory Ingram.
Survivors include loving companion, Mary Rockwell, Mound City; his children and spouses Claude Jr. (Tena) Kendall, Elwood, Kansas and Lori (Frank) White, Gower, Missouri; Deana’s children and their spouses Karen Ingram, Debbie (Lee) Hinkle, Billy (Debbie) Keiffer, Marla (Mark) Burnsides and Bobby Keiffer; Mary’s children, Diana (Robert) Elliott and Patsy Smith; brothers Ronnie (Carol) Kendall, Houston, Texas, and Russell “Cracker” Kendall, Wathena, Kansas; sisters Patty Gorbet, Kansas City, Missouri and Sharon Jones, St. Joseph, Missouri, 24 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog Tiny.
