Cynthia A. Macrander was born in St. Joseph on June 23, 1956, the daughter of John and Myrt (Beckweth) Groce. She graduated from Lafayette High School.
In 2001 she married Harold Macrander, and they made their home in Forest City. Cynthia was active in the BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse) organization.
Cynthia passed away on Friday, June 28, 2013 at a St. Joseph hospital at the age of 57. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband Harold, of their Forest City home; children and spouses, Joshua (Missy) Lyon, St. Joseph, John Lyon, St. Joseph, Travis (Anne) Macrander, Forest City, Amy (Tom) Chenoweth, Maysville, Missouri, Tonya (Travis) Eldridge, Cameron, Missouri, Becki (Bob) Elliott, Excelsior Springs, Missouri, and Amber Schuler, Trenton, Missouri; two sisters, Yabonna (Glen) Meyers, Rosendale, Missouri and Tina (Vernon) Law, King City, Missouri; 27 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Family visitation was held from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm Wednesday, July 3, followed by memorial services at 7:30 pm at the Chamberlain Funeral Home in Oregon. A private family inurnment will be held at Forest City Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Cynthia Macrander Memorial Fund.
