Daniel C. Ramsay was born on Nov. 1, 1941 in Buffalo, New York, the son of William C. and Doris C. (Hamm) Ramsay.
Daniel graduated from Oregon High School, and then enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was honorably discharged in 1962. Daniel married Laura Hicks, and they became parents of two daughters. They later divorced.
Daniel worked at Sutherlands lumberyard for many years, and also for other lumberyards. He was most recently the plant manager for Sur Gro, retiring in 2006.
Daniel passed away on March 23, 2015 at his Forest City home at the age of 73.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Dana Pfliegier; and brothers, Bob, Stuart and Mike Ramsay.
Survivors include his daughter, Jeanette Ramsay of Gladstone, Missouri; brothers, David and Fred Ramsay of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Dick Ramsay of Flippin, Arkansas; sister, Mary Ann Johnson of St. Joseph; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Family visitation: Sunday evening, March 29, 2015, 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Oregon. Inurnment with military rites will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 10:00 am at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas. Memorials: Daniel Ramsay family.
