Darlyne R. Kurtz

Darlyne R. Kurtz, 92, of Oregon, passed away October 21, 2019 at an Oregon healthcare facility.

She was born in Forbes, Missouri on February 4, 1927, the youngest of two daughters of James and Marie (Williams) Fitzgerald.

She graduated from Oregon High School, and then complete two years of college at Maryville State Teachers College. She married Edward Kurtz on April 11, 1948, and they became parents of two children.

Darlyne worked in the family farming operation, K & K Farms, and then worked in area banks, including the former Zook and Roecker Bank in Oregon and North American Savings Bank in St. Joseph.

She was a member of the Oregon Christian Church, the last surviving founding member of the Adelpha Club, member of the Order of Eastern Star where she served as Grand Martha in 1991, and served as Grand Marshal of the Holt County Fall Festival in 2018.

Darlyne is survived by her husband of 71 years, Ed, of Oregon; son, Jim (Kelly) Kurtz, Oregon; daughter, Gail Stout, Overland Park, Kansas; five grandchildren, Baron and McKela Stout, Brady, Branson, and Bryant Kurtz; two great grandchildren, Xavier Stout and Jay Kurtz; and nieces and nephews.

Family visitation: Thursday, October 24, 2019, 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Chamberlain Funeral home, Oregon. Services: 10:30 am Friday, October 25, 2019,  First Christian Church, Oregon. Interment: Maple Grove Cemetery, Oregon. Memorials: The Oregon Christian Church’s After School Bible Club.
