Darwin Keaster

O. Darwin Keaster, 88, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017 at his Maitland, Mo. home.

Darwin was born Nov. 25, 1928 in Bigelow, Mo., the only child of Fred and Mable (Wild) Keaster.

Darwin worked as a construction foreman for Idecker Construction.

In 1949 he married Gloria Miller, and they became parents of five children. Gloria preceded him in death in 1990. He was also preceded in death by a son, John Keaster, and a daughter, Denise Stawkowski.

In 1994 he married Mary Etta Boyd. She survives of their Maitland home. Darwin is also survived by his daughters, Theresa (Mike) Mackey of Oregon, Missouri, Dorothy (David) Trauernicht of Craig, Missouri, and Nanette (Garry) Brown of Glen Haven, Colorado; stepchildren, Linda Garwood of Flagstaff, Arizona, James (Jane) Norris of Kansas City, Missouri, and Karen (Steve) Ste. Marie of Beverly Hills, California; 17 grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

Services: Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, 3:00 pm, with the family greeting friends beginning at 1:00 pm at the Chamberlain Funeral Home in Mound City. Interment: Mount Hope Cemetery, Mound City. Memorials: Community of Christ Church Youth Program, Mound City.
