Dema Jo Noellsch was born May 21, 1928 in Forest City, Mo. to John and Marjorie (Brooks) Prussman. She graduated from Oregon High School in 1945. Upon graduation, she attended Maryville Teachers College. After that she taught country school and then worked for the county superintendent of schools.
On March 5, 1951 she married Myron Noellsch in Topeka, Kan., and they lived on the family farm, raising four children. She was fortunate to live on the farm for 65 years.
Dema Jo passed away peacefully Friday, March 24, 2017 at the Oregon Care Center at the age of 88.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Myron Noellsch; her brothers-in-law, William Meyer, Bill Greiner, Lawrence Fink and Lowell Akin; her sister, Betty Prussman Brunk; and sisters-in-law, Alberta Fink and Lillian Akin.
She is survived by her four children, Albert (Nora) Noellsch of Oregon, Ann (Patrick) Morrissey of Bentonville, Arkansas, Karl (Barbara) Noellsch of Oregon, and Maurice (Marie) Noellsch of O’Fallon, Missouri; two sisters, Mary Lou (Charles) Markt of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Martha Meyer of St. Joseph; brother-in-law, Jerry Brunk of Oregon; sister-in-law, Helen Greiner of Oregon; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services: Monday, March 27, 2017, 11:00 am, Oregon United Methodist Church. Family will greet friends one hour prior to services, at the church. Interment: Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorials: Oregon United Methodist Church, or Maple Grove Cemetery Association.
