Denise graduated from South Holt High School in Oregon, Missouri in 1989. She was currently working at McDonalds in Mound City.
Denise passed away on May 4, 2017 at a St. Joseph hospital at the age of 48.
Preceding her in death were her maternal grandparents, Howard and Marguerite ODriscoll; brothers, Michael Gearhart and Howard "Buck" Gearhart; and sister, Kim Hiltner.
She is survived by her mother, Margie Gearhart of Mound City; brother, Mark Gearhart of Forest City, Missouri; father, Harvey R. Gearhart, of California; and a community of friends.
Denise enjoyed sports, especially following local Mound City teams. She had a kind heart, and loved animals.
Services: Tuesday, May 9, 2017, 10:30 a.m., with family visitation from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday, all at the Chamberlain Funeral Home, Mound City. Interment: Forest City Cemetery. Memorials: to the family, to help with expenses.
