Donald Paul “Don” Ireland was born on October 26, 1938 in Darlington, Missouri to Orville J. and Loretta A. (Chapman) Ireland. Don attended Stanberry High School, and later earned his GED.
On August 13, 1961 Don married Linda Sullender, and they became parents of three sons. They later divorced. On Feb. 14, 1986 he married Patricia G. “Pat” French. She passed away in 2011. On March 21, 2013 he married Margaret Hardy, who survives of their Rock Port home.
Don served in the U.S. Air Force and in the Reserves. After the service he owned and operated Midland Insurance in Rock Port.
Don passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at his Rock Port home at the age of 78.
In addition to his wife, Pat, Don was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Marshall, Raymond, Charlie and Francis Whitmore; and grandson, Camden Ireland.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret; sons, Vincent Ireland of Nebraska City, Nebraska, Logan (Pam) Ireland of Omaha, Nebraska, and Barry (Gemalyn) Ireland of Reno, Nevada; sisters-in-law, Frances Whitmore of St. Joseph, Missouri and Johnnieve Whitmore of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, Ashley, Jessica, Aprille, Brylle, and Cyprille Ireland; great grandchildren, Kael and Luca Ireland; and nieces and nephews.
Don was a member of the First Christian Church in Rock Port. He was a member of the Heart of America Carnival Glass Association, and a past member of the Million Dollar Roundtable.
Family visitation: Fri, Oct. 13, 2017, 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm, First Christian Church, Rock Port. Services: Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, 11:00 am, First Christian Church, where family will greet friends one hour prior to services. Private family inurnment: McFall Cemetery, Gentry County, Missouri. Memorials: First Christian Church Building Fund.
