Donna J. DeWees was born on April 22, 1947 near Fairfax, Missouri. She was one of eight children of Roy Sylvester and Nora Jean (Bell) Patton. Donna attended school in Rock Port.
In 1969 she married James W. Rightsell, and they became parents of five children. They divorced in 1990. Donna later married Bruce DeWees in 1999. He preceded her in death in 2008.
Donna passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at an Omaha, Nebraska hospital at the age of 68.
In addition to her husband, Bruce, she was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dorothy Reisinger and Carrie Grebe; brothers, Archie, Jim and R.D. Thornton; and fiancé, Peter Fluitt.
Survivors include her children, Rick (Melanie) Rightsell of Bellevue, Nebraska, Dianna (Larry) Liess of Rock Port, Jim (Mistie) Rightsell of Tarkio, Bill Rightsell of Auburn, Nebraska, and Devon Rightsell and his significant other, Melissa Holthaus of Tarkio; sisters, Jean (Ernie) Erdman of Divide, Colorado and Sharon Patton of Tarkio; seven grandchildren, Amanda and Jessica Liess, Melissa Mathews, Adam and Daniel Liess, and Christopher and Heather Rightsell; significant other, Thomas Woolridge; great grandson, Remington Mathews; and her favorite grand-dog, Junior.
Donna worked as a certified nurse assistant at Pleasant View Care Center. She also worked as a bartender.
Services: Saturday, March 26, 2016, 2:00 pm, First Baptist Church, Tarkio. The family will greet friends beginning at 1:00 pm at the church. Interment: Hunter Cemetery, Rock Port.
