Doris I. Cunningham

Doris Irene (Lippold) Cunningham was born in Falls City, Nebraska on September 26, 1944. She was one of 12 children of Joseph Leo and Dorothy Katherine (Wissman) Lippold. Doris graduated from Falls City High School.

On August 8, 1981 she married Steve Cunningham in Craig, Missouri. They made their home in the Craig and Mound City area.

Doris passed away on October 15, 2012 at her home north of Mound City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, James and John Lippold.

Survivors include her husband, Steve, of their Mound City home; children, Mark D. (Phyllis) Faller, Craig, Missouri, Terri L. (Kurby) Parman, Barnard, Missouri, and Adrienne B. Cunningham, Fort Collins, Colorado; sisters, Bernice (Larry) Glenn, Batesville, Arkansas, Rose Mary (Ron) Barnhart, Fort Collins, Colorado, and Joan (Jerry) Simpson, Rulo, Nebraska; brothers, Kenneth (Cora Lee) Lippold, Brownville, Nebraska, Virgil Lippold, Ogallala, Nebraska, Leon (Luella) Lippold, Clackamas, Oregon, Harold (Elaine) Lippold, Mankato, Kansas, Dennis (Lena) Lippold, Dawson, Nebraska, and Daniel Lippold, Falls City, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Gail Cunningham, St. Joseph, Missouri; three grandchildren, Brooke and Allie Nauman, and Dylon Faller; and one great grandchild, Jaylynn Wilmes.

Doris was an avid sports fan, especially following the Missouri Tigers. She enjoyed traveling, interior decorating and serving as hostess for gatherings. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the Big Lake Baptist Church.
Services were held on Friday, October 19, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Christian Fellowship Church in Mound City.  Interment was held at the IOOF Cemetery in Craig. Memorials may be directed towards establishing a memorial garden to be planted at Doris and Steve's new home, or to the Sisters of Saint Mary Hospice or American Cancer Society.
