Dorothy Alice Ingram was born on October 16, 1922 in Hopkins, Missouri, the daughter of Earl W. and Mary Jane (Huey) Hall. She graduated from Hopkins High School, and then from Platte Business College.
On February 16, 1944 she married Eugene “Gene” Ingram in Hiawatha, Kansas. They owned and operated jewelry stores in Hopkins, Plattsburg, and Rock Port.
Dorothy passed away on Monday, September 1, 2014 at the Pleasant View nursing home in Rock Port at the age of 91.
Preceding her in death were her parents; son, Daniel Ingram; brother, Huey Hall; and sisters, Lola and Pauline.
Survivors include her husband, Gene, of their Rock Port home; daughter, Geraldine “Gerry” and her husband Dennis Sherry of Kansas City, Missouri; son, John Ingram of Rock Port; brothers, Earl Hall, Jr. of Bedford, Iowa, Glen E. and wife Donna Hall of Savannah, Missouri, and Floyd and his wife Gloria Hall of North Bend, Washington; sisters, Mary Ellen and her husband Merle White of Hopkins, Margaret Patterson of Savannah, and Virginia Petersen of Des Moines, Iowa; grandchildren, Ian, Merrenda, Matthew, and Tyler; and great grandchildren, Savannah, Chevy, and Dominic.
Graveside services and inurnment were held on Friday, Sept. 5, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Hopkins Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Hopkins Cemetery or charity of donor's choice.
