Dorothy Frances Armentrout Wright passed away Nov. 1, 2019 at Tiffany Heights in Mound City, Mo.
Dorothy was born July 19, 1929 near Rock Port, Mo. to Archibald and Lucille (Bywaters) Harper.
A Craig High School graduate in 1947, Dorothy married Harold Armentrout of rural Mound City on Dec. 20, 1946. She was a town girl who learned to be a farm wife and was always helping with chores, taking care of the farm, and cooking for the farm workers during harvest.
Dorothy was also involved with Harold’s participation and travel with the Mound City Riders Club. She worked at Mound City Flower and Squaw Creek Truck stop in later years. Harold passed away on May 17, 1979.
On Feb. 25, 1995 she married David Wright and made her home in Corning, Mo. Dave passed away Oct. 22, 2008.
Dorothy was preceded in death by husbands, Harold and David; her parents; sister and brother-in-law, William and Freda Booe; sister-in-law, Opal Armentrout and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walter and Ellen Armentrout.
Survivors include daughter and son in law, Patti and Dennis Lacquement; grandson, Jason (Melissa) Smith; great granddaughter, Emersyn Kate, all of Lincoln, Neb.; Dennis’ children, Nicole and Natalie and family; nieces and nephews, Bill, Bob, Terry and Brenda Booe and their families; David’s children, Stanley, Becky, Vicki and Teresa and their families; and her long time friend and companion, Bud Wilson of Fairfax, Mo. whom she lived and traveled with for many years prior to her moving to Tiffany Heights in 2017.
Graveside services and inurnment: Thurs ., Nov. 7, 2019, 11:00 am, Mount Hope Cemetery, Mound City. Family will greet friends afterwards at The Klub. Memorials: First Christian Church Home Restoration Fund or the Christian Church, to help those affected by this year's flood. Care entrusted to Chamberlain Funeral Home, Mound City.
