Earl D. Gillenwater

Earl David Gillenwater, age 88, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away on February 3, 2020 at his residence.

Earl was born May 6, 1931 in Oregon, Missouri to the late Arthur “Mack” and Mary (Noble) Gillenwater, and proudly served his country in the US Army.

He worked many years as a mechanic for Dial Soap.

Earl is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Henry, Harold, and Billy; sisters, Lucille Mayree Gillenwater and Jean Whitnah; and daughters, Billie, Robin, and Sandy.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia, whom he married in 1988; sons, Rocky and wife Lori, Randy and wife Julie, all of Council Bluffs; daughter, Donna Triplett and husband Bryce, of Bellevue, Nebraska; daughter, Jackie Moutray and son, Mike Gillenwater, both of Council Bluffs; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Sunday, Feb. 9, 2020, 3:00pm to 5:00pm, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Oregon. Funeral service: Monday, Feb. 10, 2020, 10:00 am, also at Chamberlain Funeral Home. Interment with military rites: Highland Cemetery. Luncheon and fellowship will follow at the T.J. Hall Building in Oregon.
