Edward L. Bright

Edward Lee Bright was born on September 5, 1940 near Little Rock, Arkansas. His parents were Claude and Christine (Faulkner) Bright.

From age 8, Ed was raised by his grandparents, George and Rena (Edwards) Faulkner. He grew up with his little brother Gene “Jesse” and their uncles, Loyd and C.B. Faulkner.

On December 14, 1969 he was united in marriage to L. Sue Holmes in Rock Port. They spent their married life north of Rock Port, and Ed worked construction as an operator for Operating Engineers Local 101.

Ed passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at his home.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Christine (Faulkner) Bright; grandparents, George and Rena (Edwards) Faulkner; uncles, George Faulkner and C.B. Faulkner; and aunt, Alene Faulkner.

Those left to honor Ed’s memory include his wife Sue, of their home; daughter, Bobbye Watts, Benton, Arkansas; son, Billy (Sherry) Bright, Hamburg, Iowa; step-children, Shannon (James) Paterson, Wolcott, Connecticut, and Patrick (Lisa) Holmes, St. Joseph, Missouri; grandchildren, Brandi, Taylor, Elizabeth, Johnnie and Angie; step-grandchildren, Michael, Monica and Austin; 10 great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; brother, Jesse E. O’Connell, Odessa, Ukraine; uncle, Loyd Faulkner; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
