Elma L. Muse

Elma L. Muse, 79, of St. Joseph, Missouri, formerly of Forest City and Oregon, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at a St. Joseph hospital.

Elma was born on November 7, 1944 in Forest City to Charles T. and Marjorie E. (Rasnic) Lovelady. She was one of 12 children. Elma attended school at Forest City.

On May 6, 1963 she married James A. Muse in Oregon. James passed away on May 16, 1968 when Elma was just 23 years old.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; daughter, Roxie; and siblings, Donald Francis Lovelady, Ruby Lovelady, Stella Lovelady, Goldie Jean Kluge, Eva Marie Todd, Charles “Bud” Lovelady, Ida Nadine Lovelady, Doris Lovelady, and an infant brother.

Survivors include her daughter, Andrea (Chris) Dittmer; grandchildren, Sylas and Anna Dittmer, Joni Burch, and James (Jennifer) Burch; great grandson, Braxton Burch; brother, Howard Lovelady; sister, Laura Jo Cloyd; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Sunday, February 25, at the Chamberlain Funeral Home, Oregon, Missouri, followed by services beginning at 7:30.  Private family interment will be at Forbes Cemetery, Forbes, Missouri. Memorials may be directed to the family of Elma Muse.
