Enola K. (Noland) Kerns was born on August 11, 1953 in Forest City, Missouri. She graduated from Benton High School in St. Joseph, Missouri.
On May 24, 1987 she married David O. Kerns in St. Joseph.
Enola worked in St. Joseph at Sherwood Medical, and owned and operated the Beauty Parlor and the former Gypsy Wagon clothing boutique. She and Dave also owned and operated the King and Proud Restaurant in Oregon for 12 years.
Enola passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at a Kansas City area hospital at the age of 69.
Survivors include her husband, Dave Kerns of Oregon; their children, Suze (Allen) Jackson, St. Joseph, Missouri, Chad (Heather) Wilson, Kansas City, Kansas, Col. Zachary (Rose) Kerns, Oregon, Missouri and Jenny (Mark) Cathcart, St. Joseph, Missouri; grandchildren, Paige Ford, Kaiden, Kale and Liam Kerns, and Brody and Brett Cathcart; siblings, Shirley (Danny) Derr, Jack Burgess, David (Brenda) Burgess, and Ricky (Marcy) Burgess, Tommy Noland, Rose Bashor, Terry (Craig) Elmore, and Beverly Menard; and sisters-in-law, Fely Noland of San Diego, California and Kathy Burgess of Country Club, Missouri.
Enola was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Nolan Kerns; and brothers, Gerald Noland, David Noland, and Jim Burgess.
Family visitation: Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Oregon. Funeral services: Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022, 1:00 pm, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Oregon. Private family interment: Kerns-Freeman Cemetery, Easton, Mo. Enola loved kids, and so in her memory her family is requesting donations of kid-sized clothes, gloves or socks, to be dropped off at the funeral home or on Dave and Enola's front porch deck at 104 S. Monroe. Donations will be distributed through the South Holt School District teachers.
