Esther E. Kneale

Esther Ellen Kneale was born on July 19, 1919, to John and Abbie (Kreek) Marriner at Curzon, Missouri, south of Oregon, Missouri, and died on August 25, 2013, at the Oregon Care Center in Oregon, Mo. She had resided there since Nov. 4, 2011.

Esther and her family moved to Oregon in 1925, and she graduated from Oregon High School in 1937. She attended Maur Hill Beauty School in St. Joseph before she married Kenneth Kneale on March 26, 1938. They were the parents of four children, and farmed in the Oregon and New Point areas until moving to Oregon in 1990.

Esther is a lifetime member of the Oregon United Methodist Church, a 64 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Holt County Historical Society.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth Kneale, on March 7, 1995; her son Ben on Sept. 28, 2002; her son Bill on May 2, 2013; and her brother, Richard Marriner, on April 10, 1999.

Esther is survived by her daughter, Judy (Don) Scheib; son, K. R. (Sue) Kneale all of Oregon, and five grandchildren, Scott Scheib and Carol Rogers of Oregon; Beth Adams of Omaha, Nebraska; Cindy Kneale of Kansas City; and John Kneale of Nashville, Tennessee. She has seven great-grandchildren, Lindsey Vasquez of Maryville; Abby Christensen of Kearney; Brett Scheib and Stephanie Allen of Oregon; Zach, Ian and Avery Adams of Omaha, one step-great granddaughter, Katy Hihath of Kansas City; five great-great grandchildren, Aiden, Jackson and Mia Vasquez and Dylan and Harper Christensen; and three step great-great grandchildren, Libby, Ellie and Eva Hihath. Esther is also survived by a sister, Ruth Hollenbeck, of Concordia, Missouri, and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Chamberlain Funeral Home in Oregon. Family greeted friends one hour prior to services. Interment was held at New Point Cemetery in New Point, Missouri. Memorials may be directed to the New Point Cemetery or the Oregon United Methodist Church.
