Eva Ruth Andes

Eva Ruth Keller Andes was born December 9, 1920 near Maitland, Missouri, the daughter of Stephen Henry Keller and Cora Brand Keller. Ruth was valedictorian of the 1937 graduating class at Mound City High School.

She married George William Andes on July 14, 1938 at Plattsburg, Missouri. They lived on the family farm near Maitland, Missouri most of their lives.

George passed away in 1990, and Ruth continued to live on the farm for more than twenty years after his death. Her son, Steve Andes, purchased the home place.

She spent over three years of her life at Tiffany Heights Nursing home in Mound City, where she received an award for her cheerful spirit.

Eva passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Tiffany Heights at the age of 93.

She is survived by her children, Patricia Westerfield of Julian, Nebraska, Judy (Darrell) Beason of Kansas City, Missouri, Rex Andes of Forest City, Missouri, Joy (Duane) Keown of Laramie, Wyoming, and Steve (Janet) Andes of St. Joseph, Missouri; 16 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and cousin, Fern Carmean of Forest City, Missouri.

Services were held on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Chamberlain Funeral Home in Mound City. Family greeted friends one hour prior to services. Interment was held at Maitland Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Maitland Cemetery.
