Frank Victor “Vic” Musch of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, formerly of Tarkio, Missouri passed away at on Friday, January 31, 2014, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon.
Victor was born August 2, 1921, in Craig, Missouri, the son of Herman and Anna (Mueller) Musch. Victor grew up in Tarkio, Missouri.
In February of 1942 he married Catherine Lucille “Katie” Cooper in Yuma, Arizona. He served in the U.S. Army in Fort Bliss, Texas, from April 7, 1945 until March 22, 1946.
Victor and Catherine resided in California for a short time before returning to Tarkio in 1958 to join her parents, Frank and Eula Cooper, in the operation of the Farm and Home Supply. After purchasing the business, Vic and Katie changed the business name and operated Vic's Hardware until their retirement in 1990.
Victor moved to the Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon in 2010, where he was chosen to go on the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. to see the WWII Memorial. He was thrilled to see his brother Alvin's name on the monument.
Victor is survived by four children, eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife, one sister and one brother preceded him in death.
Graveside services and inurnment will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Tarkio Home Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Vernon MVH Assistance League and mailed to Missouri Veterans Home, 1600 S. Hickory St., Mt. Vernon, MO 65712.
