Floris D. Wheeler

Floris D. Wheeler was born April 9, 1920, one of four children of Louis and Blanche (Bucher) Noellsch.  Floris graduated from Oregon High School in 1937.

Floris married Everett R. Noland, and they became parents of two children. Everett passed away in 1965. She then married William “Bill” Wheeler, Sr. He passed away in 1988.

Floris was an active member of the Adelpha Club, Homemakers Club, Sweet Adelines, and the square dancing club Pairs and Squares. She volunteered at the Holt County Museum & Research Center. Floris was an avid birdwatcher, quilter and seamstress.

Floris passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at the Oregon Care Center at the age of 98.

In addition to her husbands Everett and Bill, Floris was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Kenneth and Louis Noellsch; and sister, Ethel Turnbull.

Survivors include her daughter, Deon (Larry) McCown of Rifle, Colorado; son, Kelton (Susan) Noland of Oregon; grandchildren, Nicolle (Sergio) Pineda, Nathan (Kate) Noland, Jared (Carrie) Noland, Bryan McCown, and LeAnn (Brett) Craighead; great grandchildren, Joie Pineda, Logan, Haley, Landon, Kendall, Kyler, and Kameron Noland, Katie McCown, and Bethany and Madison Craighead; great-great grandson, Aron McCown; and nieces and nephews.

Family visitation: Sunday, Oct. 21, 2018, 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Oregon. Funeral services: Monday, Oct. 22, 2018, 10:30 am, also at the funeral home. Interment: Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorials: Holt County Museum & Research Center, Maple Grove Cemetery Association, or Welty Park.
