Floyd E Ashlock

Floyd Eugene Ashlock, 78, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at his Oregon, Missouri home. He was a lifelong farmer, and had also worked with the St. Joseph, Missouri Police Department for several years.

Floyd was born on August 18, 1946 in Hugo, Colorado to Gearold and Ella Nadine (Bloomfield) Ashlock.

On July 17, 1968 he married Virginia Lea “Ginger” Lovelady in Forest City, Missouri. They became parents of three children, Joe, Stacie, and Cathy.

In his spare time Floyd enjoyed hunting, fishing and going on car rides with Virginia. They celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary this past July.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Gearold Ashlock and Nadine Burnsides, brothers, Donald, Kenneth, Gearold Jr. “Tuffy,” and an infant brother, Charles; sisters, Arnita Howard, Sandra Carter, and an infant sister, Bonnie.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia “Gin/Ginger;” their son, Joseph “Joe,” his wife, Shelly and their daughters, Lindsey (Ben) and Amanda; daughter, Stacie Ashlock and her children Tiffany Baldwin, C.J. (Erin) Baldwin, Leslie (Brendon) Peters, and Nathaniel Giffin; daughter, Cathy (Aaron) Robbins and her children, Matthew Thomas and Samantha Armstrong; siblings, Nancy Ashlock and Shelby (Merle) Corf; in-laws, David “Boy” Lovelady and Larry Lovelady; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and cousins.

Family visitation: Monday, September 9, 2024, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Oregon. Funeral services: Tuesday, September 10, 2024, 11:00 am, Oregon First Christian Church. Interment: North Bethel Cemetery, Mound City. Memorials: To the family.
