Floyd Franklin Hughes

Floyd Franklin Hughes was born in Andrew County, Missouri on July 20, 1936, one of five sons of Kenneth Floyd and Edith Pearl (George) Hughes. Franklin graduated from Fillmore High School.

On May 15, 1955, Franklin married Bernita Steeby, and they became the parents of two daughters. The Hughes family made their home in Savannah, Oregon, and Fillmore, before returning to Savannah in 1990.

Franklin managed and drove for Ferrellgas, a propane delivery company. He also worked for MoDOT and the Andrew County Highway Department.

Bernita passed away in 2007. Franklin passed away on April 27, 2025 at a Savannah care center.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jerome Hughes; and grandsons, Kurt and Kenneth Budine.

Survivors include daughters, Sherry Ueligger and Cindy (George) Budine, all of Savannah; three brothers, Gary (Katy) Hughes, Stephen (Barb) Hughes, and Terry (Jana) Hughes; three grandchildren, Cassie (Kory) Karr, Kyle (Caitlind) Budine, and Terin Budine and her husband Ryan Evans; and six great grandchildren, Tristan, Tenley, Ottis, Lauren, Camryn and Flynn.

Franklin enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and vacationing, especially in Branson and Alaska.
