Francis O. Bohart, 78, of Mound City, Missouri, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022 at a St. Joseph, Missouri hospital.

He was born in Mound City on Jan. 14, 1944 to Raymond O. “Bus” and Chrystal (Snider) Bohart. Francis graduated from Mound City High School.

On March 16, 1965 he married Barbara Stone, and they became parents of three children.

Francis was a heavy equipment owner and operator. He raised livestock and grain, and did sign painting and woodworking.

Francis was a member of the First Christian Church where he also served as Deacon. He would often prepare the main course for monthly potluck meals. Francis served on the Mount Hope Cemetery board for over 30 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His motto in life was that it had been a good day if he had made a new friend!

Preceding him in death were his parents, and his brother, John Bohart.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara, of the home; daughters, Karra (Donnie) Smith of Mound City and Karla (Leo) Buckles of St. Joseph; son, Kent (Rana) Bohart of Oregon, Missouri; sister, Mary Susan “Susie” Bohart of Mound City; eight grandchildren, Kaitlynn Smith, Christopher (Samantha) Buckles, Kirstan (Calib) Burkholder, MacKenzie, MaKayla, and Maysen Bohart, Kira Smith, and Derek (Crystal) Smith; and four great grandchildren, Kinsley and Hudson Buckles, Jocelyn Smith and Bella Meyer.

Family visitation: Fri., Aug. 19, 2022, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Mound City. Funeral services: Sat., Aug. 20, 2022, 10:30 am, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Mound City.
