Franklin D. Cunningham, 91, of Mound City, Missouri, passed away on February 15, 2024.
He was born on November 9, 1932 on a farm near Craig, Missouri to W.D. and Pearl (Mallon) Cunningham. Franklin was a graduate of Craig High School.
After graduating high school he enlisted in the Air National Guard where he was an airplane mechanic, leading to a career in that field.
On December 30, 1955 he married Wanda Dolliehyde of Atlanta, Georgia. They had two sons, Franklin and Kendall.
During his career Franklin worked in several states including Alaska, where he lived for many years and retired there in 1995. After retiring he moved to the Mound City area where he lived for the remainder of his life.
Franklin traveled extensively during his career, including to all 50 states, 12 countries and four continents.
He was a member of the Big Lake Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge.
Preceded him in death was his wife Wanda and son Franklin; his parents; siblings, Kenneth D. Cunningham, Keith A. Cunningham, Segius P. Cunningham, Belva M. Kent, Orpha Lee Cunningham, Marguerite Brandon, Kathleen M. Curran, and Betty Lou Cummins; and half brother, John William "Billy" Halasey.
He is survived by his son, Kendall, several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
A private burial was held at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Craig.
