Freddie Gene Liess, 82, of Collinsville, Oklahoma, formerly of Rock Port, passed away April 16, 2012 at a Tulsa, Oklahoma hospital.
Freddie was born on April 17, 1929, the son of Smith and Bessie (Cooper) Liess. Freddie graduated from Rock Port High School.
He married Dixie Lee Ballanger, and they became parents of two sons. They later divorced. In December 1993 he married Johanna Youngblood.
Freddie was preceded in death by his parents; his former wife, Dixie; his twin brother, Eddie Dean Liess; and a stepson, Roy Crittenden.
Survivors include his wife, Johanna; sons, Larry Liess of Rock Port, and Gary Liess of St. Joseph, Missouri; stepson, Jerry Crittenden of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; stepdaughters, Geraldine Zyskowski of Broken Arrow, and Germaine Nally of Tulsa; six grandchildren, Amanda, Jessica, Melissa, Michelle, Adam, and Daniel; and five step grandchildren.
Freddie was a good mechanic, and worked on both cars and heavy equipment. He enjoyed working in his yard.
Graveside services were held on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 3:00 pm at Hunter Cemetery in Rock Port. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
