Gary Eaton

James Gary Eaton was born on July 25, 1945 in King City, Mo. to parents Albert Lamaster and Daisy Wanita (Murphy) Eaton. He was one of five children. Gary grew up on the family farm in Maysville, Mo. with his brothers and sister.

He met Patricia Ann Stratton and they were married on November 20, 1964. Out of this union three children were born.

From 1967 to 1996 Gary owned and operated the Maysville G & R Phillips 66 station. He also owned and operated Eaton Garage in Oregon, Mo. and worked for Altec, where he retired.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Julie Ann; brothers, Verlin, Terry, and Eric Eaton; sister, Marjorie Moody; son-in-law, Jeffrey Beers; and niece, Linda Scroggins.

Survivors include his wife, Pat, of their Forest City, Mo. home; his beloved canine companion, Duke; son, Jim (April) Eaton of Oregon, Mo.; daughter, Joy Beers of Forest City; three granddaughters, Rilee (Brandon) Peters, Shelby (Caleb) Townsend, and Karley (Cutler) Derr; one grandson, Zach (Bonnie) Beers; great grandchildren, Alexis Peters, Braxtyn Peters, Jada Townsend, Brantley Townsend, McCormick Derr, and Madison Beers; and nieces and nephews.

Services: Saturday, April 13, 2024, 11:00 am, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Oregon. Family will greet friends one hour prior to services. Inurnment: Oak Lawn Cemetery, Maysville, Mo. Memorials: National Down Syndrome Society or Special Olympics.
