George E. Buckles

George E. Buckles was born in Fortescue, Missouri on June 30, 1940 to Loyd E. and Pearl A. (Ramsey) Buckles.

George graduated from Craig High School in 1958. He married Pat Richey in St. Joseph, Missouri on August 17, 1975, and they became parents of two daughters. George worked as a truck driver for Williams Fertilizer, and also worked for Meng Farms and Gordon Brothers Quarries.

George passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at an Oregon, Missouri care center at the age of 73.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Pat, daughters, Tawnya and Amanda Buckles, and granddaughter, Hanna Buckles, all of Oregon, Missouri; son, Chad Buckles of St. Joseph, Missouri; daughter, Ramonda Hutchinson and grandchildren Sarah and Carl Hutchinson, all of Stuarts Draft, Virginia; and sister, Nina Boyd of Mound City, Missouri.

Services were held on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Chamberlain Funeral Home in Oregon. Family visitation was held one hour prior to the service. Interment was held at Benton Cemetery in Mound City. Memorials may be directed to the George Buckles family or to the Oregon community swimming pool.
