George R. "Ronnie" Quick, 78, formerly of Oregon, Missouri, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2013 at a Granby, Missouri care center.
He was born January 20, 1935 in Forest City, Missouri and graduated from Oregon High School in 1953. Ronnie served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959. He married Cora Sue May, and they became parents of six children. They later divorced.
Ronnie worked at Oregon Plumbing and Heatin, Missouri Beef Packers at Phelps City, Missouri, Oregon Livestock and Sale Barn, and helped with spring and fall draft horse sales.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Guinn G. and Mildred E. (Jourdan) Quick; brothers, Robert and Jim Quick; sister, Louise Miller; and grandson, Jedediah Crider.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Kim (Larry) Crider of Oregon, Missouri, Rhonda (David) Guthrie of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Stanley Quick of Oregon, Missouri, Darren Quick of Granby, Missouri, Jennifer (Mark) Renfro of Neosho, Missouri, and Stephanie (Rodney) Baker of Neosho; sisters, Guinnedeane Brown and Rita (Bill) McWilliams, all of Oregon, Missouri, and Shirley (Johnny) Taylor of White Cloud, Kansas; 16 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 10:30 am, with family visitation Thursday evening from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm, all at Chamberlain Funeral Home in Oregon. Interment with military rites were held at the Forest City Cemetery.
