George L. Slusher was born in Forest City, Missouri on Feb. 6, 1938 to Lee Junior and Naomi (Burrier) Slusher. George graduated from Forest City High School.
In 1957 he married Wanda A. Buckles. They later divorced. George served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Teamsters union and worked as a truck driver.
George passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at a Kansas City hospital at the age of 76.
He was preceded by parents; brother, Donald “Bud” Slusher; and grandson, Adam Slusher.
George is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Reva, and Bryan and Beth, all of Oregon; sisters, Nora (Dean) Monroe, Craig, Missouri and Martha (Ron) Staggs, Paris, Missouri; sister-in-law, Pat Slusher, Oregon; granddaughter, Sarah Slusher; and great granddaughter, Paycee Slusher; and nieces and nephews.
Services: Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Chamberlain Funeral Home in Oregon. Family visitation: Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Memorials: The Terri Slusher Memorial Scholarship Fund.
