Gerald “Jerry” G. Johnson

Gerald Garland “Jerry” Johnson was born on May 1, 1936 in Riverton, Iowa to Cecil Garland and Maymie Elizabeth (Parkinson) Johnson.

Jerry attended Blair Country School for eight years, and then graduated from Mound City High School in 1954.

He was united in marriage to Peggy Graff of Mound City on September 25, 1955.

Jerry passed away on Friday, July 15, 2022 at a Mound City care center at the age of 86.

Jerry was preceded in death by his son, Joe; his parents; and a brother, Dennis.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy; two sons, Gerald Allen (Shelley) Johnson and David Scott (Trish) Johnson, all of Mound City; five grandchildren, Jamie Marie (Shayne) Wright of Platte City, Missouri, Casey Allen (Lindsey) Johnson of Fillmore, Missouri, Joshua Scott Johnson (Shealy) of Mound City, Jessica Rae Johnson of Arkansas City, Kansas, and Samuel Wilson of Mound City; and great grandchildren, Evalena Rose Johnson and Adelais Violet Johnson of Fillmore, and Grady Shayne Wright and Beau Allan Wright of Platte City.

Services: Tues, July 19, 2022, 11:00 am, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Mound City. Family will greet friends one hour prior to services. Interment: Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorials: Charity of donor's choice.
