Grace Maxine (Steele) Moser was born in Fortescue, Missouri on July 8, 1937. She was the second of five daughters born to John Clifton “Cappy” and Virginia Agnes Belle (Slemp) Steele.
Grace spent parts of her early years in both Fortescue and Roseville, California. She attended Craig, Missouri High School.
On June 30, 1956 she married Thomas Nelson Moser. They became parents of five children. Thomas farmed and Grace was a farm wife, mother and homemaker. Thomas passed away on July 25, 1982.
Grace passed away on April 20, 2016 at a hospital in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; an infant son, Charles; and brothers-in-law, Marvin Yadon, Ron Lautaret and Bob Roberts.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Virginia Moser and Kevin Nolte, Falls City, Nebraska, Thomas N. Moser, Kansas City, Kansas, Tammy and David Stroud, Mound City, Missouri, Bobbi and Brad Burton, Shawnee, Kansas, and Jonathan Moser, Kansas City, Kansas; sisters, Jean Yadon and Helen Roberts, both of Elverta, California, Elizabeth (Fred) Guthrie, Independence, Missouri, and Marolyn Lautaret, St. Louis, Missouri; 11 grandchildren, Sarah, Amber, Ashley, Brynna, Jacob, Chris, Alie, Cindy, Sherry, Tommy and Lisa; 12 great grandchildren, Finn, Conor, Maryam, Hailey, Mason, Kaden, Graison, Cash, Amelia, Layla, Charley and Chase; and nieces and nephews.
Grace was a typical farm wife and mother. She loved birds, did oil painting and quilting, raised gardens, did several crafts including making jewelry, and enjoyed fishing.
Services: Monday, April 25, 2016, 8:00 pm, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Mound City. Family will greet friends beginning at 6:00 pm. Memorials: American Heart Association or Forest City Cemetery Association.
