Harold Hines, 88, of Kansas City, Mo., passed away March 14, 2017.
He was born Nov. 2, 1928 on a farm near Fortescue, Mo. to Percy and Alta Maye (Bryan) Hines. He graduated from Watson High School. Harold lived in Holt County during his adult life and enjoyed farming, especially raising cattle.
He married Norma Fergison in 1951. She survives of their Kansas City, Mo. home. To this union came Tim Hines who preceded his dad in death, and daughter Janet Hines of Kansas City, Mo.
Harold was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Kenneth, Glen, Dean, and Owen Hines; sister, Rose Laughlin; sisters-in-law, Wilma, Nina, Shirley and Joanne Hines; and brothers-in-law, Dallas Laughlin and Gordon Hecker.
In addition to his wife and daughter, Harold is survived by his sisters, Marge Hecker and Helen (Dean) Rowlett; sister-in-law, Ada Mae Hines; and many nieces and nephews.
Harold liked visiting neighbors and friends and always had a helping hand for others. He was a priest in the Community of Christ Church.
Services: Saturday, March 18, 2017, 2:00 pm, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Mound City. Family will greet friends one hour prior to services. Interment: Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorials: Mound City Nutrition Site or Mound City Food Pantry.
