Harold G. "Skip" Fletemeyer

August 7, 1929 — March 25, 2012

Harold G. "Skip" Fletemeyer was born on August 7, 1929 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was the only child of George and Frances (Brodersen) Fletemeyer.

Skip graduated from high school in Omaha, and then attended the University of Nebraska-Omaha. He worked as a nurse at the Douglas County Hospital. He also was a union delegate for the AFL-CIO.

On Nov. 24, 1949 he married Carmela DiMauro, and they became parents of three children. Skip and Carmie moved to Corning, Missouri in 1985, and to Rock Port in 1993.

Skip passed away on Sunday morning, March 25, 2012 at his Rock Port home at the age of 82.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Carmie, and his parents.

Survivors include his children and their spouses, John and Mary Anne Fletemeyer of Germantown, Maryland, Mark and Pam Fletemeyer of Bellevue, Nebraska, and Laura and Tim Hurley of Grand Island, Nebraska; 10 grandchildren, J. David, Irene, Scott, Kelly, Erin, Eric, Melanie, Michelle, Miriam and Ryan; and five great grandchildren.

Skip loved singing and playing music, science, and reading.

A memorial open house was held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Harold's home at 504 Paarkeast Dr. in Rock Port. Inurnment for Harold and his wife Carmie was held on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Westlawn Cemetery in Omaha.
