Helen Marie Murray

Helen Murray was born at Oregon, Missouri, the daughter of Hanson and Mary Murray. She attended schools in Kansas and Nebraska, graduating in 1946 as valedictorian from Alliance High School in Alliance Nebraska.

After graduating from the University of Nebraska, Helen taught music in the public schools for some years, and was a proficient violinist who played with several orchestras and symphonies, as well as in a string quartet and solos at church.

In 1958, following her sister and brother-in-law, Helen moved to Seattle, Washington and found secretarial work at Boeing.  Here she met Tom Reagan, who she married in 1959. They enjoyed many happy years together.

As her parents began to need care in their later years, Helen returned to Alliance, where she lovingly cared for them for over ten years.  After this time, she returned to Seattle to enjoy family and retirement. She continued playing her violin at church and was generous with her time and talents among family. Her standards were always of the highest.

Our dear Aunt Helen will be greatly missed but it is an enormous comfort to know that she is in the presence of her precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Hanson and Mary Murray, older brother, Herschel Murray, and younger sister, Jessie Lea Murray Rosenquist.  She is survived by her brother-in-law, Robert W. Rosenquist of Seattle WA, nieces and nephew: Jean (Jonathan) Morris of Maple Valley WA, Jim (Connie) Rosenquist of Port Townsend WA, Carol (Chris) Ryan of Maple Valley WA, and Mary (Ken) Hasson) of Seattle WA, as well as their children and grandchildren.

Helen will be inurned with her family at Maple Grove Cemetery in Oregon, Missouri at a later date.
