Hubert C. Tunnell

Hubert Cecil Tunnell joined his children in Heaven on July 29, 2012 surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born in Jameson, Missouri on December 21, 1924. Hubert married Ruby Gannon.  They were the parents of three children, Clarence Lee, William Cecil, and their daughter Linda Shadle. Hubert and Ruby later divorced.

He spent much of his life in Trenton and Chillicothe.  Hubert moved to Oregon about eight years ago to be close to his son, Bill, and daughter-in-law, Chris.  He enjoyed swinging on his porch swing, visiting with family and friends, watching wrestling and baseball, and staying “busy.”

Hubert was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Tunnell and Julia (Taul) Tunnell Brassfield; his sister, Doris Tunnell; his children, Clarence Lee Tunnell, William “Bill” Tunnell, and Linda (Tunnell) Shadle; and two great granddaughters, Lyndy and Taylor Ashler.

He is survived by his daughters-in-law, Chris (Bill) Tunnell and Doris (Clarence) Tunnell; grandchildren,  Kandy (Chris) Ashler, Crystal (Ron) Anthony, Tammie (Jeremy) Hadle; Chris’s three daughters, Brandi (Jeff) Oliveira, Beth and Allison Bungenstock; Clarence’s children, Cynthia (Tim) Wilkerson of California, Missouri, Timothy Bland, and Misty Davis-Martin of Tulsa, Oklahoma; great grandchildren, Colton Ashler, Bodhi, Kylee, & Kalub Anthony, Hayden Hadle, and Jolie Oliveira; and numerous relatives in and around Trenton Missouri.

Hubert did not wish to have traditional services. A small memorial service will be done at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Mound City Nutrition Site, or the Holt County Cancer Fund.
