Irene L. Derr

Irene L. Derr, 92, passed away March 25, 2019 at an Oregon healthcare facility.

She was born in Forbes, Missouri on June 20, 1926, one of two children of Alonzo and Pearl (Ramsay) Metcalf.

Irene married Rodger Derr in 1948, and they became parents of three children.

Irene sold Avon and worked at Pearl’s Café. She also wrote for the Mound City News. She enjoyed taking her grandchildren fishing. Irene was a member of the Oregon Christian Church.

Rodger passed away in 2012. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Warren Metcalf.

Irene is survived by her children, Rodney Derr of Oregon, Missouri, Danny (Shirley) Derr of Oregon, and Georgi (Leland) Lane of Graham, Missouri; 10 grandchildren, Melanie Johnson, Bryan (Liz) Derr, Jason Derr, Chad (Abby) Derr, Heather Derr, Krista (Daniel) Morris, Laura (Kevin) Wright, Becca (Steven) Cureton, Hanna Lane (fiancé Dakota Gross), and Mark Hall; 17 great grandchildren, Lunden Johnson, Harper Johnson, Brody Derr, Hadley Derr, Kindall Morris, Phoebe Morris, Emmy Morris, Lela Wright, Hayden Lane, Quentin Cureton, Jaden Derr, Emma Derr, Rowen Derr, Liam Derr, Jade Clayton, Makayla Whitmire, and Malick Whitmire; two great-great grandchildren, Kennedy and Kendrick Clayton; and nieces and nephews.

Services: Friday, March 29, 2019, 11:00 am, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Oregon. Family will greet friends one hour prior to services. Interment: Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorials: Alzheimer's Association.
