Julia Carolyn (Bailey) Bahler Hautzenroeder was born August 15, 1919 in Butler County, Kentucky. She was the second of seven children born to Maud Irene (Arnold) Bailey and Melvin Davis Bailey.
She was raised in Eastland County, Texas and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics from North Texas State University in Denton, Texas. There she married Ralph Wayne Bahler on July 22, 1945. They later settled on the family farm in Holt County, Missouri and had five children.
Carolyn put her education to good use in the family, community and church by serving as a 4-H leader, band mother, PTA officer and Sunday School teacher.
Her other interests were genealogy, Daughters of the American Revolution, quilting and gardening. She was a member of the East Hills Church of Christ.
In 2004 she married Edward “Gil” Hautzenroeder who preceded her in death, along with her parents and her first husband, Ralph. Three brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.
Carolyn passed away on Monday, March 23, 2020 at a Savannah, Missouri care center at the age of 100.
She is survived by a sister, Kathleen Himmelsbach and her children Lynda Busbee (Bob), Terry Bahler, Flowayne Bahler, Emily Nossaman (David) and Donald Bahler (Pat), also eleven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
