J. T. Elder

J. T. Elder, 84, formerly of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away June 16, 2019 at the Oregon Care Center.

He was born on December 6, 1934 in Forbes, Missouri, one of four children of Doyle and Mozelle (Milburn) Elder.

J. T. served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He later worked for Tobin Construction.

On June 20, 1953 he married Lucy J. Tapia, and they became parents of five children.

J. T. was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lucy; sister, Mary Schank; and son, Jesse D. Elder.

He is survived by his sisters, Nina George and Wanda Turner, both of Oregon, Missouri; children, Jay Elder, Jack Elder, Juanita Wheeler, and Theresa Sutton; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services with flag folding: Wednesday, June 19, 2019, 1:00 pm, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Oregon, Missouri. Interment: Agency Cemetery, Agency, Missouri. Memorials: The Oregon Care Center activity fund or Three Rivers Hospice.
