James Lee Collins was born in Hamburg, Iowa on December 8, 1947. He graduated from Hamburg High School.
On August 31, 1968 he married Beulah A. Holmes, and they became parents of three children.
Jim lived in Georgia for over twenty years where he worked at DSM Chemical. He retired in 2003 and moved to Watson, Missouri.
Jim passed away on Monday, December 3, 2012 at Community Hospital in Fairfax, Missouri at the age of 64.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Edna L. (Brookshire) Collins.
Survivors include his wife, Beulah, of their Watson home; his father, Floyd Lee Collins, of Farragut, Iowa; son, Quentin Eric Collins, of Riverton, Iowa; daughters, Erin L. and her husband Wayne Hammett of Harlem, Georgia, and Melissa D. Glass of Rome, Georgia; brother, Joseph Collins, of Farragut, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Tyler and Nicole Collins, Emma and Brittany Hammett, Paige, Madison, Dillan and Lillian Glass, and Chasity Stephenson; three great grandchildren, Kaydin and Tristan O’Valley, and Cayson Stephenson; and nieces and nephews.
James served as a member of the National Guard in Nebraska and Georgia. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. James attended the Baptist Church in Hamburg.
