James I. Cook, 80, of Watson, Missouri passed away May 3, 2019 at a Rock Port, Missouri care center.
He was born in Rock Port on September 28, 1938. Jim attended country schools near Watson.
On August 4, 1957 Jim married Dorothy Dovel, and they became parents of two children.
Jim farmed in Atchison County and also worked at Bentley Grain and Missouri Beef Packers.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Cleo and Carrie (Thornton) Cook Grebe; son, Gary in 1974; brothers, Robert and Cecil Cook; and grandson, Chad Dovel.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 62 years, Dorothy, of their home; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Charlie Dovel, Hamburg, Iowa; granddaughter Megan (Pete) Welch; great granddaughter, Cassidy, all of Hamburg; sister, Nancy Cable, Versailles, Missouri; nieces, nephews and many friends.
Services: Monday, May 6, 2019, 11:00 am, Linden Christian Church. Family visitation: Sunday evening, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm also at the church. Interment: Linden Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Linden Christian Church or Linden Cemetery.
